It's Snowing!!!!

WOW! Can you believe that this is Las Vegas??? Snow sticking to the ground??? I love it! This is great... Well, coming from a girl who is born and raised in Las Vegas! My husband is originally from Michigan so he felt like he was back home!!! As soon as I got home I got the camera out and started snapping away :) When Ronnie got home he greeted me with a SNOWBALL IN THE HOUSE!!!! This is a man who is a clean freak!!!!! So, it was fun to see him having fun with it! ( even though he denies he had fun with it! after his 1 hour drive home! That should have taken 30 minutes!!!) We then went outside and had a snowball fight and Lucy chased us around and we played!!! My hands were freezing and I was soaking wet! SO worth it!

This week has been a little stressful with work ( retail world 1 week before Christmas!) trying to finish my shopping, getting my tree up and decorated... But this snow really just put a smile on my face and made me remember that life is too short to sweat the small stuff and to have fun just like a kid would in the snow :) Merry Christmas!!!

Holiday Cookies

It is definitely that time of year, isn't it? Life is hectic with baking, decorating and holiday parties! This week is definitely a busy week for the Quinces ( mostly me! I think!) This week at work has been busy ( remember... I work retail!) I work ALL weekend... So, today on my day off I did all my running around and came home to get some work done. When I say work I mean cleaning, trying to finish some decorating, and baking! Wait... Don't forget we are going to a Christmas party Friday night and the theme is Ugly Holiday Sweaters! We all have one right??? Well, I went and got some extra goodies to make it a little bit uglier? I pulled my sweatshirt out from the deep black sea of my closet and Ronnie assured me numerous times how ugly the sweater was and I shouldn't add anything!!! I know, why would I have such an ugly thing? I took it from my Mom's closet last year! One of my Dad's clients gave it to her as a gift! I don't think she misses it much! She has never asked for it back!!!

But, the whole reason why I wanted to post this blog with you was to share a recipe with everyone! It's so easy and wins people over every time I make my "buckeyes" they are really just peanut butter balls :)

Try it out! It's a hit every pot luck I bring them to!

1 1/2 cups of creamy peanut butter

1/2 cup of butter ( softened)

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

2 1/2 cups of semi sweet chocolate chips

2 tablespoons of shortening

4 cups of confectioners sugar

In a large bowl mix peanut butter, butter, vanilla extract and confectioners sugar. Mix all together until all mixed. Roll balls in desired size. Put in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Use a double boil: in a bowl put the chocolate chips and shortening until it all melts together.

Use a toothpick to dip the balls in the chocolate... put back in the fridge again so the chocolate and peanut butter hardens. For about 20 minutes... and the DONE!

This weekend was my Aunt's wedding... I know it sounds weird as I say Aunt!!! But, she remarried after 20 years of being divorced and has found the nicest guy EVER for her! But, in the mean time is was a true family affair! My sister and brother in-law came in town from Phoenix ( it's always nice to see my big sis!) So many friends and family we haven't seen in so long and allot Ronnie hadn't met yet! Even my ballet teacher from when I was a little girl! She taught almost every girl who was at the wedding! How cool is that? The wedding was so much FUN! Allot of stress... My Mom was the maid of honor and I did her make-up ( so stressful! as I have been out of the make-up biz for awhile!) OH... and my BFF Gina and her Mom were the photographer's for the wedding, so we had a blast being cheese balls for the camera! Here are a few pics from my camera... ( believe me Linda's pictures are 100% better! I will post those when we get them!) Here are my silly ones!!!

Birthdays and Band- Aids!!!!

This weekend we went and celebrated with one my very best friends for her 30th birthday! We have been friends for almost 25 years! I can't believe that we have been celebrating birthdays together for SO long! We went to dinner and then dancing.Until I cut my toe open and my dancing shoes came off for good! Yes, I know how did I cut my toe? Well, I did and believe me it hurt so bad :( Thank goodness for Ronnie and he came and rescued me with some water and napkins. But, I was 100% prepared... I had several band-aids in my purse and they held it all together until I could get home. Why did I have so many band aids in my purse??? From the last time I cut my finger on my birthday!!! Yes, it is a pattern! Overall we had allot of fun and stayed out pretty late... Well, we did start the night at 6:30 so it was late in our book!

The best part of the night was rushing to find something to wear... Usually it is a complete disaster in my house when I am rushing and clothes are thrown everywhere! This time I was in a rush to get Gina'a gift and was on a mission while I was out to find something cute???? Well, I did it in 1 hour flat! The best part was I only spent $25 and I will totally wear it again :)

I'm Back!!!!

Hello!!! I am back for day 2 of blogging!!! Again, mostly just making sure that I am still getting the hang of this! It looks as though I am :) Ok, so I added a few pics... and made my blog look a little snazzy! But, it could get better! I am still have a little trouble figuring things out... I tried to add on my site all of my blogging buddies links and the it just disappeared? So, if anyone is out there and wants to leave me some pointers please do so! I am going to add another picture so you can get to know more about us :)

Wow! I think I figured it out???

WOW!!! I think I may have some what figured this out??? I have had this on my to do list for months!!! I had attempted a few months ago to create a blogspot and for some reason it was so complicated? So, I put it on hold for a minute... Well, I came back and I told my self to be patient and just read the directions ( which I never ever do!) I really love reading other fellow bloggers and looking at the fun pages :) Thanks to my blog buddies Gina and Jessi! I hope I can only blog half as good as they can!! hehehe :) They are pros at this! So, here is my official blog invite to everyone to come visit the Quince's page and be patient with the less talented!!! I feel like this is like scrapbooking but on the computer! Which is great because I love to scrapbook!!! Ok, so I'm going back and gonna try some more and create a cute page!!! So, welcome and just be patient with me :)
